Cuba – Partnership Agreement Between the Gaza International Women’s Film Festival and the Women’s International Democratic Federation
Today, a partnership agreement was concluded between the Gaza International Women’s Film Festival and the Women’s International Democratic Federation (WIDF) in Cuba. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Gaza International Women’s Film Festival by Ms. Melina Fiore, and on behalf of the Federation by its President, Ms. Lorena Peña, during the sessions of the Global Steering Committee.
The partnership aims to amplify the voice and creativity of Palestinian women through cinema and to strengthen global solidarity networks that support women artists and activists working under conditions that demand resilience and resistance.
Dr. Ezz Al-Din Shallah, Founder and President of the Gaza International Women’s Film Festival, extended his highest appreciation to the Women’s International Democratic Federation in Cuba, represented by its President Ms. Lorena Peña. He expressed hope that this partnership agreement will contribute to supporting Palestinian women and achieving its intended objectives, while calling on women around the world to stand in solidarity with Palestinian women during these difficult circumstances.
This agreement comes as an extension of the long-standing history of the Women’s International Democratic Federation in supporting women’s struggles worldwide, and represents a tangible step toward building cultural and political bridges that contribute to defending dignity, memory, and human rights.
The signing took place as part of international solidarity activities, following the special session held on 29 November on “A Report on Aggressions and Threats Against Colombia and Venezuela” and the “Special Report on Lebanon and Palestine,” reflecting a shared commitment to pursuing peace, justice, and the protection of women’s rights in conflict zones.
