Stockholm – Al-Karmel Artistic Production Foundation has announced the completion of the first Palestinian animated film for children produced using artificial intelligence technologies. The 15-minute film is titled “Seeking Refuge in School.”
This achievement marks the first collaboration between Palestinian filmmaker Mohammed Al-Sahli, based in Sweden, and writer and screenwriter Mustafa Qaoud, representing a significant milestone in the development of Palestinian animated cinema.
First Screenings in Sweden
The film is scheduled to premiere in Gothenburg on October 18 as part of the Reading in Many Languages Festival. Its official screening will take place in Stockholm on October 24 during the Stockholm Arabic Book Fair.
A Pioneer in AI Filmmaking
Director Mohammed Al-Sahli previously achieved a groundbreaking success by producing the first Palestinian film created with artificial intelligence, titled “Hope Is the Last to Die.” This new production further reinforces his pioneering role in integrating advanced technologies into Palestinian cinema.
Future Projects
The filmmakers revealed plans to produce a series of animated films in the coming period, aiming to enrich Palestinian children’s content through the use of the latest cinematic and artificial intelligence technologies.
